We are looking for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will take architectural and execution ownership of a mature cloud ecosystem, focusing entirely on infrastructure modernization, automation, and scaling.
About the project: You will be working on a mobile-first communication and engagement platform designed for large-scale enterprise workforces (enabling secure real-time messaging, broadcasts, and community features). The system architecture is a highly resilient, multi-tenant cloud ecosystem featuring a fast-evolving Generative AI layer (built on advanced RAG models and vector databases). It processes high-volume transactional data, handles massive media asset delivery, and maintains strict industry compliance standards.
Our Tech Stack:
- Cloud: AWS (EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, VPC, CloudFront, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, BedRock, DMS, EFS, API GW, RDS Proxy);
- IaC: Terraform, Ansible;
- Backend: Python, Django / Django REST Framework;
- Data Layer: PostgreSQL (RDS), OpenSearch, Amazon S3;
- Async & Messaging: Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ;
- Identity Management: Keycloak;
- Security: SOC 2, GuardDuty, Secrets Manager, KMS, ACM, Security Hub, Inspector, CloudTrail, Config, CloudWatch, SSM.
Responsibilities:
- Provide architectural ownership and guidance over AWS infrastructure;
- Design and oversee implementation of modern CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code practices (Terraform);
- Support and improve serverless and event-driven architecture (Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, etc.);
- Lead key initiatives such as:
- database scalability and High Availability improvements (Multi-AZ, performance optimization);
- migration toward more serverless and cost-efficient solutions;
- Define and support security and compliance practices (SOC2-oriented);
- Collaborate with backend and engineering teams on deployment and infrastructure decisions;
- Participate in periodic reviews, incident analysis, and architectural planning sessions.
Requirements:
- Senior-level experience with AWS in production environments;
- Strong expertise in Terraform and cloud infrastructure design;
- Solid understanding of serverless architectures and event-driven systems;
- Experience with scaling, reliability, and cost optimization in AWS;
- Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments;
- Ability to operate in a consulting/part-time role.
